The 64th and final episode of the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood television anime series ended today in Japan with an announcement that production on a theatrical version has been green-lit. The 64th television episode matched the ending from the original manga by Hiromu Arakawa’s.

From the manga released in Japan on May 22nd, 2002 to the anime release in October 4th, 2003, Full Metal Alchemist has struck the hearts of many throughout the world. On its final episode, fans rejoiced to the conclusion of the everlasting story between the Elric brothers. After three years, the return of FMA was celebrated through the new story, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, a story that fol follows the manga to the core and delves deeper into the story. Now, the story finally comes to an end after 63 episodes. With the greatest evil defeated, Alphonse revived, and their father making peace, we can only await the conclusion on episode 64, “The End of the Journey” on July 4th, 2010.
